After several days of sub-zero temps NewFemale and YoungMale (the Kids will give them names when the eagles lay eggs and have hatchlings) have been back to the nest with corn husks. How romantic.

YM got "INTO" his lunch today. He's got his stern look on!!

Today, the 'Kids' at E4Kids are going to vote on the names for NF and YM. I'm so happy because I've started titling my snippies as Eneff and Whyem. The following names to vote on will be a much better choice.

The E4Kids and Blair and Taylor made the news!! It's so cool that the kids are learning this in school

It's hard to explain what's going on at this nest the past two days. It seems there's another eagle that is interested in what's going on at the Blair/Taylor nest. Keith was there to record it and edited this for slo-mo. I don't know about this "mates for life" thing. Or maybe they're trying to figure out who likes who?? This will be fun to watch what happens to the new couple.

Blair and Taylor came back to the nest this morning. There were no other eagles with them this time. It's just a thought but... do you think the other eagle was checking out the nest for any food than may have not been eaten?? Bald eagles have been known to go for the easy food. Talon4Kids was there to zoom in on Blair. Sometimes when the sun is right, it looks like she has a small tiara on. She's beautiful!!

This afternoon brought more challenges to the E4K nest. There was another eagle in the area that Taylor chased off a few times. Blair and Taylor bonded in many ways. The showed the third that they were a pair... They showed the third that this was thier nest by pushing some sticks around and squeeeeing. And then Taylor showed the third the exit door... a few times. He's growing up nicely. One of the awesome mods there, photo... said it very well. "You know... we are watching something here that is pretty much new to the cams again. This is a couple who is being challenged and we are watching Blair make her choices in mates. Taylor made his claim and showed HIM!!" There has been a lot of Nature going on in these trees.

Taylor has not been seen since Friday, February 13. The new male... E4K will call him Mister for now has been perched on the branch and making visits to the nest with Blair. There is question on whether this is Larry?? or not!! Vharley put together a few comparison pictures of Larry and Mister. Thank you for letting me use these pictures, VHarley! Can you decide??

I guess we will find out who Blair's mate will be when he comes to the nest to help incubate her first egg.

This morning brought some interesting things to the nest. Mister is the guy who's perched on the branch this morning.
