Talon4Kids got Taylor recorded again doing his Tumbleweed act.

It is day 42 and 39 for Blair and Taylor's eggs. The window of hatch seems to be closing. I'll wait, watch, and learn for what the eagles will do next. They are both brooding the eggs these days.

The eggs are on day's 45 and 48. It's pretty much a no go with any eaglets on the nest this year. Blair and Taylor still come to incubate and eat on the nest. I'm interested to see what the eagles will do from here on out. How long will the eggs last? Will they give up on them?

This person was close enough to make Taylor leave the nest. Yes, the eggs are non viable but nonetheless... there is activity on this nest. Nest + Eagles = Eggs/Babies. Please be considerate of Nature when bird watching.

I finally was there at the right time to get a good look at the eggs at day's 61 and 58. It looks like there might be something happening to one of them.

Day's 68 and 65. One of them has 2 holes and is starting to break apart. The parents are still there or close by 24/7.

After 75 days of being an egg, Blair and Taylor have spent a little less time at the nest. Blair still sleeps there at night and Taylor spends a good part of the day. He looked like he was trying to decide what to do today. He stood and looked at the eggs for a moment... turned and walked away.... but then came back to the eggs to incubate for a while again. These eggs are now at days 75 and 72. One egg still has 2 holes. The other one still looks complete without cracks or holes. It's been an amazing eagle behavior learning experience for me. I like to think of this as being Blair and Taylor's 'practice' year. Maybe all young eagles go through their early years like this. It's hard to know for sure, isn't it?

Egg days 76 and 73. Taylor spent the night with the eggs. That is a first as Blair was always the overnight parent. Blair came to the nest for about an hour this morning, then both left together. Will THIS be the End?

Egg days 77 and 74. Taylor is spending time on the nest, but the gnats are bugging him something fierce. He takes a fly about more often during the day now as Blair waits by the farm for him. She has given up on the eggs. Is it hormones? The brood patch has most likely grown back in with feathers during her molt, and there are no babies to take care of. She might be waiting for Taylor's hormones to catch up again. I'm glad she's waiting. I love this pair.

It could have been the gnats or the strong persuasion from Blair... Taylor left the nest at 4:45 p.m. and left his eggs unprotected through a rain shower. I think this may be the beginning of Blair and Taylor's bonding away from the nest.

2 eggs on a heart-shaped nest.

Day's 81 and 78. The eggs are still holding together, but they sure look awful. Taylor is still willing them to hatch, although he stays away for longer periods.

Day 82 and 80... Blair snuck in to the nest and buried the eggs.

Taylor came back and was able to find one. However, he was peeking from the perch branch.

Taylor hasn't been to the eggs for incubating for a few days. At days 88 and 85 Blair and Taylor have been sighted together by talon4kids. I love the end to this chapter.
