Now that the youngsters are flying, Glesni takes some time off. She will leave on migration first, while Monty cares for the family. Signs that the osprey cycle continues....

This is the way it should be with the homo sapiens species! The male should be in charge of those teenagers who are always wanting "more more more" and the female should go off on a nice vacaton!

Here's the video of Deri practicing future fishing skills. Apparently it's rare to capture this from a young bird. Deri is an energetic girl!!

This nest must be one fine piece of real estate. Dyfi's Facebook reports another intrusion upon the nest.

Dyfi was on the back end of Hurricane Bertha. After the weather cleared all 4 osprey were accounted for. Including Glesni. She should be migrating pretty soon and leaving Monty to feed the osprettes.

Dyfi FB reports that Glesni is still in the area. Is she working up her strength to migrate? Is she working on her endurance to migrate? Or is she just checking on Monty to make sure the kids are getting fed and learning how to fish!!?? Whatever the reason, it was a sight to see her fly.

This seems to be the final update on Glesni. She must have went flying off to her favorite migration land. May the fish meet you at the surface, Glesni!! Safe travels!!
