TY Dix! And Hiker, I have kind of a hard time thinking of him as a raptor, since he mostly eats flying insects, but that's what Cornell sez, so who am I to question Cornell? LOL
This tree is on the other side of the wall (not next to the street). It looks like a wonderful playground for fledgelings. And it is located at the end of a "dead end" street, sort of like a cul-de-sac.
Ha. We definitely don't know birds. According to the Texas game warden he believed it was a golden Eagle? Apparently he was familiar with the bird and it's location. Heck, anything that big is worthy of an " eagle " designation in our books!
I told him we would go back and take another look. Explains why such a huge chick is still white!
Sad to report, Hiker, #3 did not make it. She had a spinal injury and was paralyzed. Rehabber did the right thing and euthanized her so she would not suffer.
That's why it would sometimes take him awhile to answer in chat!
