There are 2 very young owlets. The cam was down for awhile because of a storm so we don't know when they hatched. We were watching the other night and r4 saw one of these tiny owlets hork a pellet. I was recording but I must of been gone for a fresh diet coke. We owe it all to her for this momentous event because we would never have seen it otherwise. When she told me and I looked back on my recording, there it was just like she said! Thanks r4.

This nest is getting crowded fast! The owlets are growing like weeds. I watched for a few minutes this morning and saw the owlets watching something in the trees to the left of the nest. It didn't take long before I saw Mom's eyes glowing and she flew to the nest with a mouse. Neither owlet seemed very hungry but Mom finally got one to take it from her.

Dad GHO was there today getting his fill of the noisy jaybird squawking into the mic. He had a hard time keeping his eyes open, but it worked. The jay didn't venture onto the nest.

I called the harrassing bird wrong, Hiker. It was a magpie. And the trouble-maker is back again!

The story with the never ending screaming magpie and the dive bombing the nest is.....the GHOs had it's mate for a snack last night. See pic below of them eating what looks like a magpie last night.
