The cam is live now but because of the heavy rains expected in that area Pete pointed the cam down to protect it. Here's an update from Starr Ranch.
The Red-shouldered Hawks that used this nest last year are being vocal in the territory. And when I checked the cam on 02/09/14 I saw what looked like some new sticks added and a small piece of down (the latter a good sign of using the nest again). So maybe they will. In any case, the cam is up and if they do use it we should see some changes in its construction and maybe an adult or two on it if you're watching at the right time. Egg laying is typically in mid March here. But ya neva know... Pete
